It's always interesting to discover new subcultures, or at least new to you. When my boys first got involved in Cub Scouts, I had that feeling, especially the day that I attended some sort of meeting where there was no flag in evidence in the room, so we all pledged allegiance to the flag patch on the leader's uniform shirt.


Another subculture that mildly interests me, even as it scandalizes me, is the one made up of people who spend two hundred bucks on an outfit for an 18-month old. Who are these people? Don't their kids smear applesauce on their clothes?
