Interesting. In Wisconsin, a bishop has banned Catholic organizations from participating in the CROP walk:

Bishop Raymond Burke of the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Crosse last month directed parishes not to participate in the CROP Walk because Church World Service, which organizes the event, finances family-planning services in developing nations and distributes condoms in African countries.

Church World Service, a relief, development and refugee assistance ministry of 35 denominations, helps fight hunger through partner agencies in more that 80 countries.

Judy McDowell, director of community fund-raising at Church World Service, acknowledged that some partner agencies offer family-planning services as one strategy to combat hunger. Of the 195 U.S. Roman Catholic dioceses, only La Crosse and Rockford, Ill., are not participating in this year's CROP Walk.....
